Founded in the 1980s as a specialist manufacturer of spark plug wires for cars, Brecav S.r.l. has driven continuous technological evolution. Today, the company is an international leader in the development of ignition systems for high-demand professional and industrial applications, covering the bus, heavy-duty, marine, automotive, motorcycle and aerospace sectors.
Its entry into the bus sector came about almost by chance, in response to specific technical challenges relating to gas-powered Mercedes-Benz Citaro models. This solid expertise actually dates back to the late 1980s with the first dual-fuel engines running on LPG and CNG. Over the years, the company has continued to innovate, developing systems capable of withstanding the extreme operating conditions of the latest-generation engines fuelled by biogas, CNG, LNG and hydrogen.
In both public and private transport, efficient maintenance is the only way to guarantee service continuity and eliminate downtime. Brecav components (spark plug leads and ignition coils) are fully interchangeable and equivalent to the original equipment. This highly reliable range is designed to maximise the vehicle’s service life and minimise the need for unscheduled maintenance.
